New to Forum
This is my first post on this forum but I have looked at it for over a year. Currently I own a 2001 Ford F-150 Supercrew Lariat. In the past I have owned two Toyota Trucks, two Celica's, a Supra, and several Nissan products, including a truck. This forum is of great interest to me because I am going to trade my great truck for another great truck in the form of a Toyota or Nissan. The Toyota Tacoma currently has my interest peaked because of it offers a 'supercrew' configuration with a long bed, lots of power, and is well laid out. The Nissan Frontier has a larger engine, V-6 260 hp, and is nice but offers no extended bed. My interest in this forum is to find out more information about the 'Taco' and to decide which truck is best for me. I plan to trade in the late fall of 2007, when the 2008 model year is out. My current truck has only 42,000 miles on it and is used only for hunting & fishing. I have a buick as my commuter and a 2006 Escape Limited that my wife drives. My new truck will become my commuter because I plan to dispose of the buick at the time of trade.
Toyota owners have a great sense of loyality to the brand - as this forum clearly states. I am one of the more senior people on this forum and my interest is high again for the Tacoma Limited because it is bigger but still gets good mileage. The Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Titan, and next year Tundra are much to large, they don't fit well into my garage and use too much gas. My overall goal is to purchase (late 2007) a 4X4 Tacoma or 4X4 Frontier with extended beds. The choice is easy now, the Taco is the only one who offers a large bed.
