95 Avalon Owner

Hey everyone,

I purchased my first Toyota two months ago. It's a black 1995 Avalon XL with leather and 125K miles. This one was a one-owner(80 year-old lady) and a really sweet ride. I bought it the first day it was on sale at a local Toyota dealership. I walked away with it for $4000 including taxes and I feel that I got a lot of car for the money. My friends think it's really awesome and compliment this vehicle when they drive much newer vehicles. There are no real problems that I have noticed yet and I've put 6000 miles on it already(I live in the sticks far from civilization)!. I'd like to get this car repainted in the near future because it does have its fair share of scratches which are usually only visible in direct sunlight. The front bumper is caked with bug guts that refuse to come off. I purchased a new bumper on eBay for $90(shipping included) but have not had a chance to swap it out. There are dents as well and I would love to find a useful mehtod for removing them. My only complaint is that my Avalon does not have a keyless entry remote and the dealer told me it is not equipped to have one because the XL"S" model was the only one to have it in 1995. Getting one installed from the dealer would be $500-600, so I'm waiting until I get an alarm system put on the car and just use the remote from that. I have found this car to get really great gas mileage. Mine is mostly all interstate driving and this baby sure does go! I think I've babbled on enough for now, lol.
