I'm a returning member. I have a 1992 Toyota Camry LE with 304781 miles on it. I've reached the point where I have to make a decision about keeping or selling the car. The confusion is that the car needs some work on the suspension (needs replacements), needs new timing belts, needs A/C system (R-12 ... no cooling), new tires and door handles. Probably new paint as well, if I had more $$$. My problem is that from the coming August, I'll be driving about 2400 miles per month since .............. how do I say it .............. I live 244 miles away from my uni. I plan to go there for 3 days and return home for 4 days. Got a 5 month old son ...... can't live without him
but I have still to go to uni for about another year to get my degree finished.
The car runs fine. (given its condition and give me no problems. I drive carefully too). I work on the car myself and keep it running.
My problem is that I don't have a lot of money to invest in another car but I'm worried if this one will be able to take on the long drives every week, for the next year. So I came back to the forum to figure out if I should invest money in this car or trade it for another one (probably 1996 camry LE).
Any suggestions ?
