Glad to be here--just purchased a 97 Avalon

I am glad to be here and hope to help out!

I just purchased my first Toyota--a 1997 Avalon with 140K miles on it. I am replacing a 1990 Mazda 929. A neighbor had a third kid and couldn't fit in their Avalon anymore, and stepped up to a used Sienna. I couldn't let the Avalon go, because its in great shape even though at 140K. Also, with two kids of my own it was time to step up to a little bigger car, and one with airbags, since I am on the freeway a lot. I will miss my more sporty rear wheel drive jap sedan, but think this is a good move, and I just might get used to the luxury.

Anyway, I am off to read, read, and read some more in the Avalon section.
