USA replacing timing belt

I have a 2000 avalon with 56000 miles I plan on changing the timing belt my-self. ANY SUGGESTIONS AND WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET THE PARTS. mY LOCAL DEALER WANTS OVER $500.00 FOR THE PARTS, THIS INCLUDES THE WATER PUMP.

The dealer parts will be more expensive, but they are genuine Toyota OEM. There is something to be said for this.

I have shopped around on eBay for parts and found some good deals. Try checking web-based sites. I have used www.rockauto.com, but there are many others. As I recall a few might still have free shipping for purchases over a certain amount. I thought the TN Camry site had a thread about on-line parts dealers about 6 months ago. Most web-bases sellers offer name brand replacement parts, some offer more then one choice of manufacturer for the same part.

Be careful about shipping costs. Some vendors drop ship directly from the manufacture. The costs can add up depending on if parts are stocked at web seller or need to be shipped from multiple manufactures. The other side is there is usually no sales tax.

I have never had a problem, but always use a credit card. Also check their return policy and other terms. If in doubt about anything, call them up and ask your questions.
