Hello toyotanation

Hi, I'm new to the site and really like so far what I've seen. I am preparing to install a carburetor in a '89 tercel that's been sitting for 4 years. I may be in over my head on this project, but I'm going to give it a shot. Hope I can learn from you'all and I might be able to pass along tips/mishaps. See ya. Jim

hello toyotaland. my name is cheech and i am an alcoholic and an addict . ......and a bored motorscooter. from the juvenile detention center. i am more seeker of knowledge type than qualf. advice giver. for what its worth some ideas. the only carb i plugged in was a solex. leisure cruise. if yours is complex sketch out all the connections really well. stock carb replacing stock carb i hope. colored twist ties mebbe rubber band or 2 to mark connections. possibly plastic golf tee to plug fuel line. my cable linkage was literally a snap. make fuel line connection tight enough to hold gasoline under pressure [fire hazard there if it leaks.] possibly assistant to watch for leaks when you fire it up. correct glue on the gasket between carb and manifold. permatechs copper tube or some such. take gasket to neighbor with the dirt bikes and use his glue. i must run along pronto presto subito now. ciao cheech
