2007 Tacoma TRD Offroad owner
I'm a long time Toyota owner. 1997 Toyota T-100 4X4 SR-5 extended cab with Bilstein shocks, Eaton limited slip and a Leer cab high camper shell that has been my faithful companion for 10 years of hunting and fishing all over the USA and Canada. Tomorrow my buddy is coming over to take it off my hands (a sad occasion.) My wife drives a 2004 Highlander V-6, Limited, leather, AWD.
I'm 65 years old, retired from the Navy after a 33 year career as a light attack pilot flying Skyhawks, Corsair II's and other aircraft from carriers and shorebased. I flew two combat tours in Viet Nam and was the Commanding Officer of the Navy's tactical air warfare training base for Desert Storm. Since retiring in 1991, I have tried to stay active and catch up on all the hunting and fishing I had to pass up due to Navy commitments. The last two years I've hunted Caribou in Canada, Mule Deer and Antelope in Wyoming, Turkeys and Whitetail in Missouri, And Pairie Dogs in Colorado and Wyoming. I've fished for Lake and Brook Trout in Canada and Rainbow and Brown Trout in Missouri. I've also caught Bass and Crappy on the lakes of Missouri.
Last Saturday, 21 Oct, I went to Springfield, Mo and picked up my new Tacoma. It is a Super White, 2007 Access Cab, SR-5, V-6, Auto, TRD Offroad. I have a hood protector and rubber mats on order. I plan on installing a Homelink auto dimming mirror, and a cab high camper shell to finish it out. I only hope it proves to be half the truck that my T-100 has been.
