noobie runnin a 91 Celica GTS

hey everyone, new to TN and lookin to get some really performance pointers and advice from the cite so here goes my little spiel'

Me: 17/male student in Baltimore Maryland. i have always loved the 5th generation celica since i owned my first 91 GT about a year ago, but i crashed that.

Mine: i have a 91 celica GTS. no performance mods done what so ever, but im working on it. im just not too sure where to start, im thinking either strengthening my GTS engine (approx. 140k miles) or getting a 3sgte swap. all depends on the financial cituation that comes in the future. only thing i have worked on is my audio. i have 2 12" rokford Punch subs powered by a 600w kenwood amp. they are mounted on a custom built box w/ the amp right dab smack in the middle on top of a brushed aluminum plate. it looks pretty bad ass. as soon as i get some pix of it i will post. anyway, if anyone has some suggestions on cheap performance mods, please let me know and also check out my other post in the celica exclusive section topic "turboing my celica".

Mods: kinda forgot about this part while i was going on and on in the "mine" section so just read that and you should be able to get an idea. like i said, its completely stock sept for my sound system. one thing i forgot to mention up there are my components. all that bass would sound like ass over top of the stock components so i installed Bazooka component speakers. they are cheap but have excellent response, highs mids lows, they all come out evenly overtop of the bass.

well i dont know really what else to say but i do have one question for you guys if anyone can help me out, there is this black box installed under my passenger seat. i have no idea what it is, i have owned 2 other 5th gen celicas in the year that i have been driving and this is the first time i have ever seen this box. it has alot of wireing attached to it and is not labeled. my brother told me that it may be the ECU but i dont think it is since that is located under/behind the glove box. anyway, if you have any idea at all what that might be then please let me know so i can either keep it or trash it, also there is this weird thing located in the front grill, i cant really explain how it looks but ill take a picture of it tomorrow (if it doesnt rain AGAIN) and post it so you can see.

That black box under the seat is your amplifier, its a bitch, the antenna is connected to it, your speakers and your rear speakers should have a clip seperatly installed into the amp, again its a bitch and no manuals show it in there but i actually got it bypassed by my local extreme sound shop and about 3months later it ended up catching fire and frying and killing all my electrical in my car and the sound shop promised me that everything was bypassed and no power was running to that amp, and they were wrong so they paid for and fixed the problem. Anymore questions let me know, and if you have any mod advice please let me know, i own a 92 celica GT-S, I have a stage 3 ACT carbon Kevlar clutch and 2.2L motor with an intake and 4 17" racing rims, white, all car is white, pretty sick cars, I smoke GTI turbos and vr6's and sentras, civics, accords, scions, etc, these cars are crazzy fast and now with the clutch, which i would RECOMMEND as one of your first mods, which btw if you do clutch ugrade your struts/shocks, brake system, inclucing drilled/slotted rotors, brakepads, and get new or rebuilt calipers, DEFINITLY get yourself NEW CV-Axels, i snapped mine with my new clutch lol, I chirp 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear with this clutch easily so its alot of stress on my axels, and PLEASE get a new lightened 8lb flywheel, go fidenza or ACT, otherwise a new high performance clutch is going to destroy a stock flywheel, and dont dare try to use the same flywheel unless u feel like pulling the tranny apart a few months later... U need anymore advice let me know, I also rebuilt my 91 MR2 also so im very familiar with those too, same car almost just a few things diff...
