Hi.
I own a 2001 avalon and 2 1986 4 runners, one is a 22ret turbo. I plan on swaping the turbo onto my 22re 5 speed non turbo 4 runner, any ideas or sugestions. thanks.

Talk to the guys in the truck forum. It's best to change the whole engine, harness etc.

Thanks for the fast reply, I just need to get motivated or sell the turbo 4runner. Kind of hate the idea of removing the harness and making the truck useless to someone else.

We do not have many Toyota nuts in my immeadiate area. after doing some research on the swap I decided against it, the turbo 4runner I have is in too good of shape to dismantle it. No rust solid trucks are hard to find, even in my dry climate, so i'll probably try and find it a new home and look for a turbo kit for my other truck.

Where ever that Turbo goes, keep the rear third member (pumpkin) with it.

The Turbo trucks back then had a beefier rear-end.

I don't remember.

Check with Downey or Northwest Offroad if either of them are still in business.
