Trouble code p0191 in 2001 RAV4

I am a lover and believer in the Toyota ruggedness having owned over three different models in the past ten years.

Flowing from my previous memories and the cuteness of the RAV4 architecture, I acquired a used 2001 RAV4 auto transmission SUV with a mileage of about 70000kilometers.

Currently, engine check shows up few minutes after start which consequently disable the engine relve to a maximum speed of 40kilo/hr and most times hesitate to pick-up speed. The vehicle excessive fuel consumption and black smoke in the exhaust stopped after the mechanic introduced some manual fuel return device. At the moment diagnostic scanner at the repair shop indicated touble code p0191 which it translate to mean fuel rail pressure sensor circuit range performance.

Please I need help from any member on probable solutions to this trouble code and location of the faulty part in the engine as it is fustrating to engage the pedal without response on speed more so when the repair shops around have no clue to the solution.

Kind regards on your anticipated prompt response.

Thanks

Tsema
