new 2 forum
Hi,

I'm Bernhard, mech eng, retired, 57, live in Namibia Africa.
got 2 Dyna trucks [early '70s - 2 ton] wiht 5r engines in them. Virtually rewired the first, did comp engine overhaul and swapped out the rear axle from an aven olde truck. It was running till Friday when it stripped the dist/oilpump drive gear on the cam for the SECOND time. The second truck has also had a complete engineo/haul and I have literally rewired the whole thing. It is backfiring like crazy soi I am looking at cleaning out the fuel system.

Any hints on the distributor/oilpump drive gear problem?
