Hi all,

I just joined up. I have a 2004 Rav4, bought from the local (Venice FL) dealer.

Love the car, but disappointed with the Drive-by-wire, went looking for answers (and to see if I was alone with the problem) and found this site.

I had one of the first Land Cruisers, a 1970 something, '73 I think it was. Plowed snow with it. Loved every minute on and off road. Once took my wife and both kids on a cross country hike that included heavy woods and a not-so-dry creek bed, lots of washouts. Marvelous vehicle.

Now thinking about the FJ Cruiser to use in business (real estate appraiser in an area where there is lots of vacant land, swamp, sand, you name it). But I am nervous about the drive-by-wire thing, don't think I want to do that again. I have't checked myself, but am told the Cruiser has it.

Anyway, I still like the Rav and am thinking about buying some rods and connecting the driver and fuel system the right way.
