Just want to say Hello to everyone on this Board.
Never really been on much of the Toyota board but I hope to learn alot and already did some search and found some good sources.
I'll start by introducing myself, My name is Max, I'm 21 and live around the San Gabriel, California area. Almost done with college and working part-time & saving $$. My goal is to save for a house & get into investment. I have purchase 3 cars before, a 97 automatic prelude which was a fun car but horrible mpg due to the 150k miles + some trouble spots (15mpg), a 93 integra which my friend crashed and finally I earned enough to buy my 1998 5-speed Prelude last year.
My sister recently bought brand new Toyota Corolla and decide to give me this car. This car was in my family for about 10 years. It was first own by my mom then my oldest sister, then my 2nd sister and finally me. When I got the news that this could be my car, I was actually excited and glad to receive it. So she drove it up here from San Diego this past weekend and turn it over to me. I plan to do some maintenance and restored it. I would like to drive this car for another year or so until I save have enough to fully pay for next car.
This corolla will be a great daily driver for me because it has given my sister a constant 28-30+ mpg, which isn't bad considering my weekend car is a 1998 5-speed Honda Prelude which is only giving me 20mpg. I finally got time to take some pictures and did some minor cleaning and check up for the car. Although the corolla doesn't have that much power, it is a great car and I'm excited about it.
No CEL light or anything. Such a reliable car, it rocks!

Tons of grease and other gunk from past leaks and etc...
I did a simple 5-10 minute cleaning and it look a little bit better but I will do more some other day.
My 1998 Prelude which I'll probably sell in a few months and hopefully next year I can get a S2000.
