Two New Kids
Oh, sure, there are lots of decent cars on the road these days, so how come we have TWO 1996 TOYOTA AVALONS? After 12 cars in life, these TWO AVALONS are a good size, comfortable, reasonable to maintain, decent in city and on the road. We're in the low 100K miles on each, so the maintenance is going to increase, and I don't like the cost of parts. But, averaged over the total mileage, so far it's not too bad.
Tires have been a problem -- would you believe BOTH CARS pull to the left, constantly wearing out tires? No, alignment guys seem able to improve the situation. Dealers just want to turn their backs and sell more tires. An annoying engine check light on one car should be put to bed finally this week.
Next cars, you ask? Oh, well, we have another hundred thou to go on each of these, don't we? Another timing belt, maybe. More duct tape on the lighted vanity %#*& sun visors which broke many miles ago. On such great cars, why do manufacturers let down on the littel things?
I am glad I found this web site.
