Hello

I am new to this forum, and to working with cars in general. I have a 1998 Camry V6, and about 2 weeks ago decided I would start maintaining it myself. Currently need to change the oil, fix the parking break (can't seem to get the center console off), and to replace the power steering pump or pressure hose (currently have to refill it every 3 days or so). The check engine light and the light showing that traction control is off are both always on, and there is a loud clunking noise whenever I hit the breaks too hard.

Current experience with cars: changing flats, and checking fluid levels.

Good for you, I like seeing people take initiative to get into their machines. There are a lot of smart folks here who have a lot of experience to share, and some have access to diagrams and instructions. Don't hesitate to ask anything over there in the tech forums, and if someone gets snide because you're asking a question that "should be common knowledge", invite them to go to hell and eventually someone useful will help you out.
