Intro & Manual Hub Question

Brand new to the site, just signed up last night. Great site; lots of info. & great links. Glad I discovered this place!
Now for the question/problem I have.
I drive a '97 Taco 4x4, manual trans., 3.4L V6. I need to replace the driver-side front wheel bearing. I have manual locking hubs. The hub is open and ready to be removed, however I can't for the life of me get the cone nuts to come loose. I've firmly, but not too firmly, hit the housing w/ a hammer and 2x4, a rubber mallet and a hard plastic mallet, the only thing I haven't tried is a brass hammer which I don't have. I've spayed the cone nuts with penetrated oil too. I'm at a loss as what to do and how to approach this problem; is some sort of puller I can attach? has anyone ever experienced this problem? If so please respond with any useful insight or tips.
Also, the truck has 247k on it and still runs like a champ; gotta love them "Yoda's". I've owned it for 7 yrs. and as far as I know this the first time the hub is being removed. Please help if you can. Thanks in advance.
