New gal

Hey I am Jamie from socal. I am a rotorhead and have been in my 94 rx-7 for a few years now. I recently purchased an MR2 with a "beams" motor in it so I am now a proud Toyota owner too ^^ I know a decent amount about my beloved 13b-rew rotary but honestly don't know much about my MR2 so here I am to learn! yay!

Nice to meet you all!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. lol Sry for bad pics.

Before the motor transplant a few years ago when I had the car.

After the motor transplant

The car is not much to look at. Really all it needs is a paint job. I may rattle-can those headlights because they bother me for some reason I have heard the motor in it is rare. isn't the "beams" an Altezza motor (correct me if I am wrong) and they put them in very few MR-2s. I was there when my friend who I bought the car from was unloading the rear clip. Motor swaps excite me unless they involve my FD hahahaha jkjk Here is my other baby btw.

She is stock (except the rims) and perfect that way! I had my boyfriend pick out the rims and I think they look pretty darn good If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up. I work with a very very knowledgeable shop to custom build them so if anyone is in the market for a badass FD or has any questions hit me up

And I have another MR2 question. How are they in the rain? I have heard that they will randomly spin out?!? I don't remember where I heard that or if it was from someone credible. If it is not true don't think I am crazy (well I am a little bit crazy) Vipers do that, even on dry ground they will randomly, without warning swap ends.

OO! and does anyone is SoCal know where the heck I can find someone who will "smog" that MR2 for under $500?

Thanks! ^^

haha the 7 is getting more attention than the Toyota! Poor MR2 but he is used to it :P

And I lied. (I forgot lol) She isn't stock. She has an after market downpipe with no precat. The stock one can and will clog.

Nice FD. Ugly MR2.... but beautiful motor. If you ever sell that MR2.... tell me.... I will buy it or can find someone that will. Welcome to TN.

I can help you out with your smog problem. Shoot me a PM. Need to know more details. Mostly if it's test only or just regular smog. $200 or $300 respectively last I checked.

I don't ever want to sell the MR2 but might between 6 months and a year from now because I want to buy a house. If I can afford to keep it I will though. I really like the car and so does my boyfriend. I have a friend who owns a paint shop who will paint it for me. When It gets painted it is going to be a medium/dark metallic blue. All the car needs is paint, a new moonroof (the one on it is cracked but it doesn't leak any) and an exhaust of some sort. Here are the other mods in case you were curious. The car is ONLY ugly on the outside. If people only knew...

I think the BEAMS motor only has like 8,000 miles on it. I will double check that. ^^

-Megan Racing Coilover Suspension (Height and dampening levels are adjustable)
-Tanabe Front Strut Bar
-Rear Strut Bar
-Rear strut plates (stabilizes and reinforces the strut bar and cross bar connecting point)
-Rear cross bar
-Front and rear anti-sway bars
-Fender braces
-Smaller steering wheel
-Short shifter w/ TRD shiftknob
-UH Shifter bushings
-Carbon cooling plate (Takes the heat from the radiator to improve radiator performance)
-Drilled & Slotted rotors
-Performance brakes
-LoJack
-Toyota dealership installed alarm system
-Optima Battery
-Battery Voltage stabilizer
-Toyota recommended Seat covers
-Sony sound system
-Clarion rear speakers
-Gorilla lug nuts
-Driver's side 4 point racing harness
-95 MR2 Kouki round tail lights
-Carbon fiber pop-up headlight panels
-Diamond cut headlight casing (way lighter than stock lights)
-INtec headlights
-Dealership installed fuel hose
-dealership installed radiator hoses
-dealership installed radiator
-center arm rest and shifter plate
-center storage compartment
-New shift boot
-Sunroof cover

If you noticed the car has 2 different sets of rims in the pictures I posted. I have both sets. The set in the first pic are Miata rims and they have the more "sporty" tires on them. The new rims are in the second pic (the one with the CF headlights) They have all season tires on them. Every person has their own unique style of rims. I like the ones it has. They are half bad I will eventually rattle can the lights.
