Hello from New Hampshire

Have read the forums here for quite a while without having joined before and have enjoyed reading all kinds of interesting topics.

I thought I would share my loyalty to a vehicle that has been and still is the most reliable I have ever owned.....my 1988 4wd truck. (purchased it new in 1988 :-) )

It has outlasted other non-toyota vehicles that I have owned.

I just recently added a 92 that was completely broken in half when I bought it this past year. Recently completed the welding and fabrication and created a exoskeleton over the frame in many places, the miles on this truck is way lower than my 88. Am looking forward to many miles added to it as well.

Prior to 2001 there was no down time at all with my 88 in terms of any significant repairs. I did a major exoskeleton repair to it when it would not have passed inspection in 91 also did it again in 06 and now frame is probably every bit as good as when it was new.

The 88 has 345,000 miles on it however the odometer only reflects 245,000 because the speedometer assembly was replaced by the dealer when the truck had approximetly 100,000 miles on it.

Most every thing on the 88 is still original: engine, clutch, starter etc.
The original spark plugs didn't need to be replaced until 175,000 miles.

I am sure there are others that have had similar experiences.

Sincerely,

Colin Morris
