I give it 50/50 chance they will get him, its really up to the Twins. The players offered by the Red Sox are top notch. The jewel is Jacoby Ellsbury, who is a younger Johnny Damon with a little less power but he has Hall of Fame tools. They also are dangling Jeb Lowrie, who is a decent shortstop and every shortstop the Sox have traded recently have become better upon departure, lol (Cabrera, Renteria and of course Hanley Ramirez).
Supposedly the packages were:
Ellsbury, Lowrie, Justin Masterson
or
John Lester, Coco Crisp, either Lowrie or Masterson
Supposedly the Sox won't package Lester with Ellsbury and Clay Bucholtz is completely off limits. Its really up to the Twins. Personally I'd take Santana, the pitching line up would be Beckett, Santana, Matsuzaka, Schilling, Wakefield...with Lester as the fill in, same with Bucholtz.
I'm surprised the Yankees haven't upped their deal, they need Santana more than we do...the Sox more or less are fielding the same team as last year, which won the World Series.
The Cardinals should definately rebound next year but they are in a pretty tough division and for the most part the NL is pretty well balanced...Arizona is looking pretty good right now, same with Detroit in the AL
I love baseball.....almost as much as football, we have a good home team also
