USA Wannabie Newbie...

This intro may be a bit premature but I may have a '90 Toyota Corolla SR5 5-spd manual this time tomorrow. This is my bro-n-law's car that I am trying out for a few days and having our local mechanic tomorrow giving it a buyer checkup.

He is asking $1,700. The car is very clean inside, faded red paint outside with a quarter size rust on the corner of the sunroof. 63,500 miles on the odom. As the original owner the car was driven to the bus stop and back everyday until a few years ago he moved and walked to the bus stop.

Am pretty sure the ride needs new brakes, which should not be a big deal because I have done all my own work in the past and feel confident doing most any repair...except auto trans.

I will always be open for advise and will share what I learn.

Thanks, KC

Guess I should change the title to this thread...I final bought the ae92 from my brother in law for $1600. The engine is tight, no leaks...63500 miles. The front rotors are warped and I just ordered two Bembo rotors. Still researching for pads. This will be a daily driver but want brakes that I know will work.

After that will replace the timing belt and tensioner, maybe the water pump at the same time.

Will post pictures once it stops raining....geez.
