96 Collectors Edition Camry 255k miles
Hello Everyone,
I thought I would introduce myself to the Toyota Nation Forum. I have been driving camries since I was 16 (started with a hand-me-down 1989 CE). After my younger brother crashed it, I bought a used 96 collectors edition V6 camry (purchased with 160kmiles for just under $5,000 around 2003).
Over the course of 5years, the odometer now has over 255k on it. To this day, it's still running well. I have a few dings/scratches from when my mom backed it into our mailbox and on the hood when I rear-ended a CR-V, but after repair it looks in good shape. No rust (yet) and still producing golden-clean oil even after 4,000 (or even 5,000 - oops) miles between oil changes.
My goal is to get this car to 300k + before I turn it in for a more fuel efficient model (like a 2009/10 Prius or Camry Hybrid). I'll be sure to keep myself up to date with Toyota's new vehicles and let them know how my car is holding up.
To this day I am very glad that I bought this car and if I could buy another one with zero-miles and drive it all the way to 300k I would in a heart beat. Maybe in the future I'll throw up some pictures of my car to show everyone how durable Camries can be.
