New Toyota owner

Hello to all.
Purchased my first Toyota. 2008 Tacoma Double. Blue. SR5 with Tow Package

I always like the size of the T100, and said if the make that truck again I would consider a Toyota. So the made the Tacoma bigger.
I have had at least one of the Big three. Mostly Chevy.
So far I like the truck.....inside and out.

But the 5 speed auto sucks...period

The other problem is the truck likes to follw the grade of the road, as if it out of alignment. Three of my co-workers have puchased new Tacomas and experinced the same thing. For example, when traveling in the left lane of a three lane highway, the truck pulls to the left, hard enough so you have to fight it a little bit. Which, is way the road is graded to allow water runoff. move over to the center lane, and you can let go of the wheel. I can live with it.

I have read most of the postings reguarding the problems.
I have 10k on it now, and experiencing all the same issues.
Wish I could have got a manual, but I sustained a major injury to me left knee, so that was not an option. That, and I do alot of city driving, which means traffic!

Also, does the paint seem to scratch easily, or it just me?. No big deal, after all it is a truck and was meant to be scratched, right or wrong?

I hope I get the infamous Toyota reliabilty the brand is known for.
I drive about 30k per year!

I do not plan on doing any big mods. Been there, done that. No more weekends looking for hillclimbs or mudbogs or river crossings.
