None that I have ever heard of. My clutch is from 06 and is now holding fine under 10lbs of boost. Since its still under warranty I'd take it to the dealer and not think twice about it.

Welcome to TN!

thanks bluemeanie

He took it to the dealer and was told it was his driving that shreaded the clutch. He is having to pay almost $1000 to get it repaired... $250 for the clutch and the rest for labor. He is in the airforce in Pensacola and they have him over the barrell. An "engine and transmission specialist" from Toyota happened to be in that area and also said it was my son's fault. Who knows the truth!?!

Have you tried getting a second or third opinion yet? Sometimes those $tealers are very scrupulous in their dealings with the public.

^ Agreed. ...but in all fairness kids can be tough on clutches too.

I would get a second opinion. There's no way to tell how a clutch has worn unless you open up the tranny. And the dealer would not have done that unless you signed for them to go ahead and do the work. It sounds like the dealer is making an assumption based on your son's age.

Do keep in mind tho, while I am in no way suggesting your son is doing so, a lot of the younger tC owners (import owners in general) are heavily into drag racing. Repeated hard and or poor launches can quickly eat up a clutch.
