Hi to all I am Dwayne I live in burnaby bc and I have a 1981 corolla tercel sedan I have done alot to the engine but most of all I have about $6000 in the paint job house of kolors rain bow flake I did my self and the other day blow the head so I want to swap a 4AGE 20V black top is there any one out there that has done this to any 80-82 tercels and I have a 87 celica gts 3SGE not sure if that can be swaped into this please toyota gods help me

well since the 3a and the 4age 20v are both A series engines, I believe it'll bolt to the tranny (now can the tranny handle it? thats a different question). The 3a is carb'd so you're gonna have to get a 4age with the ecu and wiring. It can be possible of course, might just take some work.

The 3s.... maybe. i've seen a 3sgte swapped into a 4th gen tercel but it took the guy a TON of work. I'd say the 4age 20v is the best bet.

I do have a 5speed from 1980 tercel under 60000kms on it and I have the linkage clutch cable shifter and the pedals that go with it I just have to run the clutch cable through the fire wall I need to find a list of items I will need for this swap mostly where is a good place to order from 4age20v black top with a uncut ecu harness with starter alt a whole engine that will not need a rebuild thanks for the info

but... I dont know of any good places in vancouver for engines and shipping from here in Cali to there would suck. I'd try eBay or maybe someone else on here knows where.

so you have an auto now i'm assuming? Now I just dont know if the 5-speed from a 1980 Terc will handle the power of the 4age. It very well may, I just dont know.
