First time Toyota owner 6th gen Corolla

I've already posted once in the 6th gen Corolla forum, but figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself.

I just bought a 92 Corolla with 128k for a mere $600. It needed work. (axles, brakes, ball joints and rotors) I'm almost done with all that, so it should be good to go for at least another 100k. Timing belt has been changed 3 times by previous owner and all the other belts were replaced about 10k ago. Any other maintenance issues I should look at?

Just the basics ... check the struts, fluids, plugs, grease points, etc ... look for leaks around the valve cover and rear main seal. Since you did the joints and axles an alignment is in order if you haven't done that already.
If you get a puff of blue smoke at start up its the valve seals.

I bought a 95 rolla that had similar problems + all the leaks for $500. It smoked and the berings were so bad that both knuckles were f'ed. I rebuilt it in a weekend and drove it for a year. From what I hear from the guy I sold it to, it still runs like a new car.

There is some oil around the bottom of the valve cover which produces a little smoke that's only noticeable when the hood is up. Also noticed fluid all around the oil pan and tranny pan, but not enough to actually leak onto the ground. Any reason for concern?

The engine idle is a little rough at stop lights and I haven't really gotten down on the throttle yet, but I think it'll be a good commuter car.
