Hello

Hello, I just joined here to learn more about the engine I want to swap into my car. I own a 91' MR2 Turbo and am planning to do a powerfull v6 swap on a very tight budget. Nice to meet all of you!

Welcome to TN.

Wow! Swapping a V6 in for a 3S-GTE? It is a beautiful motor. One of the best performance motors G-series Toyota ever built. You should not swap it out. In JGTC, they swapped out the 2JZ-GTE for 3S-GTE in Supras to reduce the weight at the front.

Why not do turbo upgrades and you will retain the lighter weight of your 2.0 Liter motor and make much better power with an awesome torque curve for high-rpm performance?

Well most people can make insane power off the 3sgte but I want something with an amazing torque curve low end and still revs as high as the 3s. So I decided a 3vz will sustain that low end power. I just came here to find all the weaknesses in the motor itself while retaining it as much as stock as possible. My goal is to make it to 650 but in reality ill proably hit over 400 and be satisified and broke for the summer of 08'. I know node has done a TT 5vz but there really arent many people who have broken the bounds of this motor in an mr2...plus i have a turbo with all parts needed for the engine to practically bolt right up excluding some major and minor modifications. Ex the motor mount needed etc... So teach me all there is to learn about the 3vz and ill improvise the rest. Aim high and if you miss it just drop more money into it next year.

That's right a 1mz or 3vz or 3mz or 5vz??? You have many options considering many people have done these swaps... Good Luck!!!

Welcome!!!!
