Wink I'm New, I'm New, I Don't Know What To Do...

Anyways, I'm new to this site and so far it seems like a good one. Tomorrow or later on this week I am buying an 89 Corolla for my daily driver. I'm buying it from a bud of mine that got it from his grandparents so it has been well taken care of. It has a few interior issues that I can fix with ease. The only major thing wrong with it is the AC blows out hot air, so it needs freon or a new compressor... not a huge issue. The body is in good shape and it's a clearn car, it should make a good DD.

It is going to be odd driving this around when I'm so use to the GTO. Though with gas prices and me always breaking stuff on that thing I can't afford for it to be my only vehicle anymore. So I think this is a smart move.

an older model well known for their reliability. You'll like having a daily so much that you won't go back to one car...I know it well!

Keep in mind these older cars used Freon 12 which has been discontinued. Thus the A/C repair will be more costly and not as simple as going down to the store and buying a few cans of stuff.

I got an uncle that can get me the hook up on a few cans, even still last time I did that htey were $40 a can. Though the R12 seems to much cooler than the new freon.

I'm very impressed with the car, I just went and picked it up. It drivers very nice, drives straight, shifts great and the power was not too bad for the motor. I lifted the hood and was like . Hopefully you guys can help me with the work that needs to be done on it. I did not look for long, but it seems as if everything is on the side of the motor, ac compressor, etc? I'm taking it as the compressor is shot, it does not even turn on. The suspension is really REALLY soft, it bottomed out twice so I need to get a stiffer set up on it. Other than that the headliner is falling off and the passanger rear needs a new inside door handle.

As far as the GTO goes the 2004's have the LS1 (346CI, 350hp/365tq). The 2005 and 2006 GTO's have the LS2 (364CI, 400hp/400tq). The build quality on them is exquiste, right up there with the BMW M3's. I've drove the car 7 hours straight and never got a cramp anywhere. Stock the 2005's run Mid to Low 13's, some even in the high 12's. They make a great DD as long as you don't mod them to hell and back. The LSX motors can take a beating and love nitrous, but are limited to FI cuz of the compression they have. I'm not fully sure what you were wanting me to answer, if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Nothing specific. I'm just impressed with the car.Especially the LS2 engine.Anything else you wanna share would be great.Braking(type), handling, mileage, dash layout, trans, etc..Anything really.
