'91 Tercel 3 spd bum valve
Marhaba! Friend is giving me a '91 Tercel, 3 spd auto, A/C, w/ a bum valve, low A/C freon, a rubbing rear drum(s), brake lights that stay on, & a dead battery. It does start & idle quietly - & drive slowly in 1st & reverse, but above 1500 or so there is a rather exciting racket.
Figure I'm going for a rebuilt head rather than trying to do it myself. I'm in D/FW, so if anyone has any recommendations on local head shops (did that come out right?) I'd appreciate it.
Experience - stripped a '79 Chevette for parts many years ago, oversaw a costly rebuilding of a LT1 for my '96 Caprice - now totaled, & convinced the Navy I was a diesel mechanic.
