88 Celica GT Convertible stalls when put in drive

Hello, Call me G.

Just bought a 1988 Celica GT convertible and put in a little stereo so that I can hear the music over the wind noise when the top is down.

I bought the car so that I can save gas and have a little fun. After a few days of driving the car it has started stalling when put in Drive. The car starts fine, idles fine even runs in reverse fine but when you put it in drive the revs drop and then it stalls unless you start/try to start driving. Once the car is running all is good it is just when you come to a start while the car is in drive or when you start the car and then put it in drive.

If anyone can help me with some suggestions on what might be wrong please let me know.
