What Up Toyota Peeps! MK3 Supra Love!

Is this like AA for Toyota owners? Hi, I'm Ben and I am on my 2nd Toyota, which is a 05 V8 4Runner. My first was a hand me down 91 Camry that got me through college. My next will be an 89 Supra Targa Turbo that I plan on picking up next Saturday, the 28th. I've been in love with the MK3 Supras since I was a kid (born in 77). Funny how you sort of forget about things for a while. Then one day I'm driving to work and see a MK3 Supra for sale, which gets me thinking, I could use a daily driver that gets better than 12mpg...

So that's my story. I really do plan on using the Supra as a daily driver during the non-winter months, any time my wife and daughter don't need to come along. Not only will I save money on gas, but I'll stretch out the life of my 4Runner, which would get me nothing if I ever dreamed of trading it in. I don't plan on modding the Supra to begin with. It's completely stock and the original owner is older, and treated it like a baby. It's got 160k on the clock, and I plan on putting on 5k per year. When it does finally decide to die on me, I'll probably try to put a 2JZ in it with the 6 speed. But that will be years down the road. For now I'll be happy with minor mods (intake, exhaust, down pipe) to get me over the 250hp bump.

Thanks for listening.

Ben

Well, when your daily driver is a 12mpg (due to the off-road tires) V8, the thought of near 20mpg is a tremendous improvement!
