Greetings, yall!

Hello,

I just realized that there is an enthusiast forum for every type of car in the world! I had been hanging out on Porsche forums (shopping for an old Porsche to do some high performance driver's ed & finally satisfy my life-long itch to have a freakin Porsche). Then I needed some minor work done on my car, a 2004 Honda CR-V and joined a forum for that which has been awesome.

Lately I've gotten lots of encouragement to learn how to do some of my own basic car maintenance, which I need to know how to do to take care of basic things when I go to HPDE events. So I have been messing around with my Honda and joking with my husband that his car his next! He needs new brake pads & rotors on his 98 Camry.

So then tonight he came in and said, "My car just clicks when I turn the key and I have to turn it several times before it starts." And he just looked at me. "I didn't touch your starter, I swear!" Hee! Anyway so it looks like it's time for me to get to know the Camry! Brakes will have to wait. Starter (or ignition or battery terminals or selanoids...here we come!).

While I don't have my own Toyota now, I do drive & love my hubby's Camry. I have had several Toyotas - my very first car was an awesome 76 Celica. I later had a 77 Corolla hatchback (bright yellow and awesome!), and even later an 87 Celica. They have all been awesomely dependable and fun to drive.

I'll be hanging out over in the Gen 3/4 forum to see about this starter business, then I'll be on to learning about brakes. Looks like yall have a great bunch of folks here - looking over the forums there's so much knowledge & experience being shared. I look forward to participating!

Welcome to our little community Kathy
We have a girl who does some of her own work on her own Camry. You'll find her in the Camry and Off Topic sections. Lots of cool, fun and knowledgeable people here. Glad to have you on board and hope you'll enjoy your stay.
