Well, that's a little arrogant, isn't it?? lol
Just bought a 95 Camry DX Coupe, 5 speed. Actually, it's a C'RY, since a couple of the letters are missing. As usual, started doing research AFTER I bought the car. Doh!
So, gotta do the upgrade to the Gen 4 dogbone, I see after looking under the hood and seeing one of the bushings torn. My exhaust bangs like crazy (I hope it's exhaust) so I have to tighten that up. Looks like my left outer CV joint is marking it's spot on the driveway, looking the reman axles on ebay. Somebody wrote on the air filter cover in chalk that the "timming belt" was changed 20k ago (car has 206k). Not sure I trust that. A little rust on rear wheel wells, some major on the driver A pillar??? How the heck does that rust.
You're thinking, this guy's an idiot for buying this heap. I'll tell you, it's one of those situations where I made the guy a lowball offer and he accepted! What are you gonna do at that point?? Ha!
I like the car already, tho. Lots o' room, comfy to drive, rolls down the highway nicely (except for the banging exhaust), decent stock stereo (previous owners listened to Christian music, I don't think they cranked it). I see myself bringing all the maintenance up to date and selling it to buy another Gen 3 in a little better shape, body wise.
So, here's to ya, I'll be lurking about.
