Getting mine tomorrow!

Hey everyone! I'm new, and I'm here because the last car I owned was a 93 Saturn SC2 with countless problems, and I yes actually do mean you couldn't count them. So as anyone would be, I am extremely excited to get my 96 Corolla from a co-worker tomorrow morning! Its green and has the five speed, and 153000 miles. I'm getting it for $1500 and blue book value is closer to $2500. I will need to replace the clutch and the rear main seal which is another thousand I don't have right now. It is still the original clutch, so it is all just normal wear. What I was hopeing to find out is what type of oil I should be putting in it if it leaks badly. Anyone know?

Welcome to Toyota Nation
Your question would be better answered in the Corolla section. But, since you live in MN, 10w-30 in the summer and 5w-30 in the winter. Since you have aot of miles on it, stick with Dino oil.Do not use synthetics. Congrats on your purchase.

Gratz, it is always fun to get a new car, even a new to you car. Good luck with the repairs, and remember, if the cost of reparing becomes more than the value of a car, it might be time to look at purchasing something else...
