I need help!93 automatic Tercel stalls out. - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I have a 93 toyota tercel. It is an automatic and when you start it up everything is great. Once u put it into gear the vehicle stalls out. The fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor have all been replaced. Could it possibly be the sending unit or fuel pump. Thanks to any one who can send me in the right direction i really appreciate it.

When in Park does the engine stall when you press on the gas pedal or when you turn on the AC?

Could be the Park/Neutral switch (engine is not idling up when put into gear) or Idle Air Control valve (IAC). The IAC valve controls engine idle. When the trans is placed in gear or the AC is turned on the IAC valve will increase idle to adjust for the load.

If it dies when you press on the gas pedal could be the MAP or MAF sensor (the engine has one or the other).
