Hey Everyone, My name is Ben and I drive a 99 Corrolla about 1 hour each way to work everyday. Right now I have about 130,000 miles on it. Overall it has been a very good car to me. Lately it's been making a banging sound. It only does it on rougher stretches of road. It sounds like it's coming from the right rear, but I see nothing. Nothing loose or obviously broken. I keep getting down there but nothing. It's starting to make me crazy. Any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe a broken strut/shock. Post your question in the Corolla section. It will be better answered there.

hmm.. this may be a long shot.. but if I know anything at all.. Im fairly certain its got abs.. and does it make the banging sound when you go to take off from a dead stop, or while stopping?

It may be locking up..

we have a gmc van that does it constantly.
