USA 1985 Toyota newbie

Hello all,
Well here is my first post.
I have a 1985 Toyota PU 4X4. When I first bought it I started having issues. 1st to my dismay, the knuckles started leaking. Did a complete knuckle re-build. 2nd the truck would completely shut down; re-wired the main supply wires into the fuse boxes (the genius before me had 6 miscelanious splices just taped together). Now the motor is about to die. GRRR. Just got done re-building a 22R, waiting to tear down a 2X4 to take the EFI out of it to install it into my truck with the newly rebuilt motor. ;-) At the same time I'm going to be installing power steering. Hopefully in another year put in 5.29 gears, lock the front and rears, and have some more wheeling fun. Well have a great time out there and thanks for reading!

Just found some more taped together splices, really now, who allows these people to work on cars?
Truck was hard to start then it would start backfiring like an automatic shotgun. Found 6 sets of splices between the helicoil and the distributor. Well still waiting to drop in the motor, but at least she's still running.

you have good luck with your 85 pickup. if you have questions about the EFI, you should drop by the 89-95 forum, i think youll get EFI help over there. other than that, i have a 22RE RWD truck and i dont think thatll be any help to you, but take it easy and enjoy
