Canada Hello there, 1st New car, 09 Camry LE

Hello there, 1st New car, 09 Camry LE

We just bought this car last month, replacing a 92 Mercedes 300E. The Camry is very nice, we chose the Aloe Green with beige leather and sun/moon roof package. This is our first Toyota. Our other car is a very nice 90 300E; we will sell the 92 300E. Our last cars were Volvo 244 and 300D Turbo Mercedes which we gave away at 440k and still running.

We chose Toyota Camry for its good reputation, styling, size, and safety. I would like however to modify the following; install turn-signal side view mirrors, remote window function, add A/C vent for rear passenger area, allow window up function when drivers door is opened (without need for key), allow stereo operation without key (with 20 minute timer). This is a great car and we plan on keeping it for a long time.

sounds like you have some mods planned....I'm not sure how feasible (affordable) it would be to do some of those things properly (i.e. a/c vents in the rear), but I'm sure this forum will help you figure it out, or at least give you some alternatives!

Thank you both for the replies.

As for the A/C duct, the XLE has a duct that runs through the centre console to a grill/vent at the rear of the console which I want to try to duplicate. The reason is that a rear seat passenger already complained that it was uncomfortably warm/hot even though the A/C was on and it was cool in the front area.

I must get a workshop service manual but the dealer here says it is not yet available.

Take care,
Acky
