So, I'm not a toyota owner, but I just bought a '97 Tercel for my kid.. 1.5L Automatic.. not even fast enough to get out of it's own way.. Perfect for him heh..
I drive an Integra GSR tho.. (I know I know boooooo!!! BOOOOOO!!!!) BUT! I'm a life long believer in Toyota and Toyota's reliability.. My dad bought a '76 Celica GT hatch brand new, drove it for 285K before is just got 'tired'.. in that time he sucked a valve.. Once.. so he got the motor rebuilt.. the rebuild kit came with a clutch.. the mechanic called and asked if he wanted the clutch installed, as his factory clutch still had a ton of life left in it..
ANYhow.. he sold that car to me in about '90.. it'd likely still be on the road if I didnt flip it on the freeway der
My dad has also owned 2 4-Runners, and I had a mid 80s toyota 4X4 back in the day.. have never had a lick of (serious) trouble with them
Sooo.. I've got a few questions about the 'new' Tercel, but I'll make a new post in a techie type section
Thanks again for having me
