Hello folks!! Like the title says I'm a native of Arizona and I'm a Bowtie guy at heart but recently with all of the gas prices and bad economy I needed a fuel efficient, reliable vehicle, that could get me back and forth to work and on occasion haul something if I needed it to. I was looking for a small pick up and I had two trucks on my mind. Either a Chevy S10 or a Toyota pick up. As luck would have it a good friend of mine recently aquired a small Toyo pick up that he took as payment for a job he did for one of his customers. The previous owner used the truck as a work vehicle and other than a few minor dents and small oil leak the truck is in good condition. I now have a toyo pick up and I'm very happy with my purchase!! I hope to chat with all of you and get to know everyone here better.

Sorry. It's a 1990 pick up 2.4 liter 22r 5 speed and I love it. It get awsome gas milage plus I can haul stuff around if I need to. It has recently begun to make a clanking sound on the top end of the engine though. But I plan to keep if for a very long time. Thanks for the greeting!!

22r is a great engine. How many miles on it? Any idea what the clanking noise maybe?

The truck had 295k when I got it but I wasn't worried about that since toyota's are so durable. (I've owned them before) Had that number been on any other brand I would have not even looked twice. Plus the price was right. I have never worked on an import so I'm not too sure what it can be. I got a little info from another member here who seems to be having the same problem but I haven't dug into the engine yet. I was hoping for a simple fix but who knows.
