Two-time Toyota driver, first time poster here. Nice site. I have an '05 4Runner with 63K on it. Just purchased it. I'm hearing a subtle "wump-wump-wump" when driving that sounds like it's coming from the left front wheel area. The frequency of the sound is proportional to speed. The front tires are slightly worn (cupped) on the inside edge and need rotating. Could it be that or a wheel bearing problem? Or is it something ordinary with this model? It's in great shape otherwise.

Sounds like the tire itself. Wheel bearings usually give a low ,steady hum in the beginning, then a grinding sound when it gets bad right before the wheel comes off the spindle!
Check out the 4Runner section for more opinions.
Welcome to TN

You're welcome. Glad it worked out for you and you only had to have rotation and I'm guessing balancing too. The 31x10.5 tires really need to be watched diligently for balancing and rotation, or they can be cumbersome.
