Hi everyone, glad to join or potentially stay active on this TN forum. I'm still the the edge of deciding to buy a beat-up-yet-still-drive-well '94 Camry with 210,000 miles from my co-worker friend.
$300 (more like $600) '94 Camry LE 210K mi. a good deal?
It's a crazy world, I know. The thing that I wanted the most -- a reliable Japanese car that doesn't cost much to own -- is sitting right in front of me except it's much older and higher mileage than I prefer. I've always had older cars:
- '86 Honda CRX 188K mi. manual
- '87 Toyota Supra 244K mi. auto
- '96 Nissan Altima 96K mi. manual
- '02 Nissan Maxima 56K mi. auto
- '97 Audi A8 158K mi. auto
- '01 Volvo V70 XC 132 mi. auto (current wife's car for kid's commute)
- '92 MB 190E 2.3 140K mi. auto (my "trusted" German machine)
The thing is I'm torn to decide taking my friend's offer of $300 (then actually need another $300 to make it road worthy & DMV fees). So, it's like dumping $600 to test the water, although it's a usually pretty good bet when it involves Toyota Camry... still with 210K miles on a 14 years old sedan. My family & I in North Carolina really needs your vote:
$300 (more like $600) '94 Camry LE 210K mi. a good deal?
Thank you and hope to interact with everyone here more in the future! FYI: I miss the lower cost of ownership from Japanese cars... and I'm trying to justify in every way I can...
