new member Hi, and turbo p/u ques

Hi, All I just joined today from NYS. I also have some ques about an '85 turbo pickup. As in getting more HP. I understand that the "old" computer controlled injection/engine management systems are not easy to hotrod, as say an 03 Cobra Mustang. But somebody has to have some tricks out there. Thanx Bill A

They MAY be lightly programable. After that you will need some type of aftermarket engine management .
I'm not aware of any Toyota trucks coming stock with turbo chargers. Is it a swap? If so, what engine? and what turbo? Some pics of the truck and engine bay would be cool
Oh, and Welcome to Toyota Nation

Thanks for the reply

Thanx for the reply. I guess I might Have "pulled the trigger" too early. After reading thru about 60 or so pages of past posts, I found tons o' good info. This thing is an 86 or 85 toyota pickup, factory turbo'ed. I think they made them for 3 or so years. I want to build this up a little for more HP. I have another 85 "Joyota" (non-tubo) that is a good little truck, but dosen't have enough "horse-pressure" to get out of it's own way. Not that I want to run low 10's, but more is better. Thanx Bill
