New Owner
This may be the wrong thing to do - biting off more than I can chew. But I just acquired a 96 Camry coupe (which is 12 years old now) - going from a 77 Volvo sedan of 15 years. Trying to get used to all the bells and whistles on this vehicle. Had a 'problem' and found this site and the first item answered my question - a vibration in the steering wheel, which others seem to have. Will try to fix that, but my book says to change the 'dog bone' it is necessary to set the car on jack stands and put a jack under the oil pan to raise it a little to relieve the weight - but the post said nothing about these. Just pull the bolts out and make the change. This sounds a lot easier.
But with fear and trepidation I ask, being a new owner, is there anything I need to be aware of with this car? Like how often to change the timing belt. I started out with a 1950 Ford (in 1950) so am used to stick shifts (three on the tree) and 67 VW type 1 and 2 with four on the floor. The Volvo was my first AT, but at least I could crank down a window. But this Camry is something else! I do thank those who wrote about the vibration of the steering wheel. They helped.
