Hello From Vancouver

Joined a while back but finally took the dive today into an 09 Matrix XR in Gray and should be ready by Monday.

I could have been easily a member of the Subaru Impreza, Honda FIT or Genvibe.com forums today but the Toyota dealer had lots of selection and was very easy to deal with...service does make a big difference I guess.

The only thing that sucks is how much MORE we pay for cars up here in Canada.

ok, long story short on my "almost ownership of matrix":

salesman calls today and says colour not available, so I go for the metallic blue he says he has in stock. 2 hrs later, he says no stock at all in the colours I want. I call back 2 hrs later again and he says he's off shift and says I can get my $5000 deposit left ($5k too much!!). Call the business manager lady up and she says no problem. Get to dealer and she gets sales manager and he now says it's in stock....but up north in some small town!!

Uhhh, yes, I'm upset. I waited 3 days and was promised the car tonight. The salesman tried to sell me a car he did not have and did not care to get my business in any other way. The sales manager tried to save the deal but too late. BTW, this was Granville Toyota on Fraser& SW Marine Drive in Vancouver. Just a tip to anybody in the sales field or service industry......NEVER over-promise and under-deliver.

Went Burnaby Toyota, got an extra $500 off deal and car should be ready tomorrow....should be.....well, I'm not ordering those seat covers from coverking.com until the car is in the garage....uggh it's late now and I have to be up early for work

Haha .. don't know about that but I did get the extra warranty for $200 off. Going to cancel my AAA membership this week so it should offset the warranty costs for the next 7 years or so.

BTW This dealer didn't have the colour promised either but had a nice white one I settled for......I know more washing and waxing..

^What is wrong with these damn car dealers?!
I deal with Granville Toyota at both locations, Fraser and Granville. They're usually pretty good to me, I get 20% off all parts. Last time the parts dude even gave me something for free (!), so I can't complain.
