Hello there
Awww, geeze,, where to begin? I am 33 years old, and have just purchased a 1994 Toyota pickup 4x4 that I love. The unfortunate thing is that the love is apparently not mutual. Like a gigantic dummy, I purchased this truck without bringing the hammer for inspection, and revealed to myself today a huge area of the frame that is completely gone. Driver's side, from the edge of the cab, right up to the front spring mount. The other side has some rust perf. but nothing a few 1/4 steel plates couldnt fix. I paid $2500 for the truck, and now I fear that it is a pile of scrap metal. From what I can find online, it seems that this kind of repair is quite common, in this exact spot on the frame. It's just a drag because I'm freaking out ablut the cost of this repair, as I am not a welder and cannot do it myself. I know I need to fix this for safety reasons, and joined this board to see if I could get some insight from people who have been there, and done that. I cant do a frame swap. It would be too costly. I contacted the guy that sold me the truck. No answer. Sent an e-mail, no answer. Go figure right? Well, there it is in a nutshell. I will post some pictures of the damage later tonight so everyone can join in telling me what a knucklehead I am. It's nice to be here.
