Greetings from a new guy from Alaska
Hi everybody. I found Toyotanation a few months ago working on my '87 4 Runner. Darn front seal was leaking and I was starting to look like Joe Hazelwood every time I parked. 4 bucks for the seal, got my Chiltons and I'm ready to go, right? Chiltons says remove the crank pulley and remove the seal, cool.
Living out in the woods with town 50 miles away, short of string down a cylinder to stop rotation [break a piston ring maybe?] I tryed everything I could think of to get that nut loose. I finally came up with the solution to run my breaker bar to the frame and bump the starter. Ummm, if I'm wrong then this 4$ repair just turned into one of my more major screw ups.
I have no internet and my friends are in Anchorage, 190 miles away. That's how I found you and there is such a great wealth of information and knowledge here I'd like to thank everybody. I must had read 60 post that said a breaker bar on the frame works great on a 22re. It was to cool, I was done in around 30 minutes and on my 4$ budget. I've got a shimmy/rumble going on now in fwd but I'll post questions tomorrow, today is to just say hi and thank you all for toytotanation.
