Hello everbody.
I have a mule and donkey operation here in the northern Chihuahua Desert, on the US side of the river. Years ago, in 1994, I bought a new Toyota pickup, stripped down 2WD four banger. It was one of the best vehicles I have ever owned, right up there with my Stude.
This next spring,
after my current crappy F150 finally collapses, I would like to find another one.
My questions are,
What was the last year of the EFI 22R?
What is the model name of the small regular cab Toyota pickup made after 1994?
I need to know what to look for as I go through the ads.
Although I am not ready to buy now, for the record I will look for a regular cab, 22R. five speed, 2WD, no accessories, no rust.
It will be used for general ranch work, hauling light bulky loads like hay, and a rare trip to town, 30 miles, with a 1500 pound trailer, on 50 mph blacktop.

I'm not sure about the last year for the 22R, but in '95 Toyota began the Tacoma with a V6 and an I4 2.7ltr.
I have a '95 with the 2.7 ltr, 150 hp, 177ft lbs of torque. It's been a great vehicle with 296,000 miles on it only having to change out the starter at 201K.
My '86 4x4 truck had a 22R. Thats a great engine also.
