wow! that's amazing!
i was first enlightened as to the amazing constitution of older toyotas by the 82 corolla station wagon a friend had. she HATED the car. she had about a 60 mile commute to work every day and got to the point she wanted the car to die, let the oil run dry, just abused the poor thing. It would not die.
The odometer and speedometer had broken long ago at around 200,000 miles, and I don't think the engine was ever rebuilt or replaced..it went way past 200,000 miles. i don't know what finally happened to it, i think it was traded in eventually in the early 2000's. it didn't die though.

good thing the odometer was broken, that probably helped her a little on the trade in value, haha!
