USA Hello Nation,

I am 41 year old engineer in Indiana and do not own a Toyota...yet. My wife has a 2007 GMC Acadia. I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler and a 2006 Pontiac Solstice. As you can see I am not drawn to practical vehicles.
The Jeep is ready for a nice slow rebuild and the Solstice, while a blast to drive, is getting too small for my family of four and all the shuttling around that we do with two kids.
As I research vehicles I find myself drawn to the used Tacomas and thought this forum would be a good place to learn about them.

Thanks in advance for all the help I am sure you will be.

Eric

The Tacoma 4x4 extracab may be the perfect vehicle for you. It's tough, practical and versitile.
Visit the Tacoma section. Those guys are pretty cool, knowledgeable and can give you all the pros and cons to help you make a descision.
Welcome to the forum

Thanks MR2BAD,

Judging by your user name you can imagine how hard it is to let go of a two seat sports car. I'm sure I will enjoy the Tacoma as well though.

I have already started reading on the Tacoma forum. Good information.

thanks

Welcome to TN!

I would stay away from the Access Cab Tacomas, I had one when I had a family of four (now 5 ) and the backseats got too damn small for the older kids (they were 8 at the time).

If you are looking for a newer used Tacoma (2005+) a Double Cab Long Bed is a great vehicle. The only "snag" with Tacomas is that they hold their value like a rock, you could get a newer used four door Tundra with a V8 and possibly more options (leather, sunroof, heated mirrors, rear sliding window) for the same or less....

Good luck.
