New Taco member from the CO Rockies
Since I bought my taco off the showroom floor in 05, the convertible Camero has been seriously neglected. Now the Camero has a 4-sale sign so I can finance the taco's upcoming enhancements. (Anyone interested in an excellent condition 2000 Z-28 convertible, drop me a line.)
My goal is to convert "Stocky Taco" into an expedition rig while still being a primary vehicle for myself. I'll be using it for day trip wheeling, multi-day camping trips, mountain rescue missions, hauling sound equipment for my DJ business, and daily commuting. The name Stocky Taco came from the monster rig owners who watched me do Hells Revenge in Moab with the 1 month old stock taco, temp tags in the back window! She's a red '05 Tacoma TRD doublecab with a topper.
What I'm invisioning is an OME 3" lift, ARB bull bar, an equivalent rear bumper (help!), new sliders, wheels & tires - all black. I want to put a pair of nuclear powered lights on the bull bar, and some snow/fog lights for these mountain blizzards. I also want to do a 360* flood light system on the existing Yakama basket on the topper to light up the camp site, etc.
The dash is cluttered with my Sirius receiver and Magellin Crossover GPS. I'm looking for an in dash head unit that will replace these, giving me the sat radio, GPS w/ topo maps, and any other cool features I don't know about yet.
You folks are the experts, and I'd greatly appreciate any advice you could offer to help design my girl's stocky-ectimy.
Thanks!
